After the Office of New Student Programs had their three-year intern graduate, they were looking to replace that position, with a student who could fill the shoes, and Kayla Broyles took on the challenge and since has been a valuable member of their team. This student in a short period of time has the lead, and has heavily impacted the First Year Interest Group Seminars, by contributing to the recruiting, selecting, training, and supporting of peer instructions in this program. The excellent data analysis efforts of this student led to a presentation at the National Resource Center for First Year Experience’s conference this past February. This student’s quick learning skills, insightfulness, and commitment to the position and department, make them a perfect fit for this award.
