Sidra Zia

Sidra seeks to actively engage with her diverse pursuits.  In addition to coursework, she has actively participated in independent study/research in the areas of astrophysics, Philosophy, Middle Eastern Studies/Arabic, and Sculpture. Her passion doesn’t end at the borders of Rutgers as she also participates in philanthropic extracurricular activities outside of Rutgers in both New Brunswick and Princeton Junction. She is an engaged member of multiple communities and brings those societies together on a daily basis, working to make them thrive in their interaction.  As a board member of the Rutgers Jumuah, she has helped spearhead the initiative to get a dedicated Friday prayer space for Muslims at Rutgers every Friday. The number of attendees have skyrocketed, and Rutgers Jumuah has now become an integral political and philanthropic front for students to help enact change on campus.
