Faiza Onque credits most of her academic success to her mother, who has always inspired her to be her best. As part of the first graduating group of the Rutgers Future Scholars Program, she achieved the top ten scholar recognition. She has been involved as a Douglass College woman in a number of capacities and has become one of 20 finalists to join Teach for America (out of 103 Rutgers students). She believes in educational opportunities for children in low-income communities, and one of the most effective ways of accomplishing this is by providing urban communities with dedicated teachers. She anticipates applying for Law School after serving Teach for America.
