Lauren McGowan
Hina Walajahi has been awarded the Lloyd C. Gardner Fellowship in Leadership & Social Policy, the SAS Academic Excellence Award, and the Trustees’ Scholarship. She has served as a First-year Interest Group Peer Instructor and a Dance Marathon Morale Captain. She has volunteered her time as an English conversation partner for international students and interned at RWJUH’s Community Health Promotion Program, a bilingual organization dedicated to improving the health of New Brunswick’s underserved populations. While an intern, she collaborated with a nurse to organize a free pap smear clinic for Latina women to help improve cervical cancer screening rates.
