Hina Walajahi
Lauren McGowan is someone who looks at every day and every moment as an opportunity for accountability and growth toward something more positive. Her commitment to volunteerism, leadership, social policy and Rutgers truly exemplifies the excellence this award seeks to acknowledge. She has been an RA for 3 years, President and Co-Founder of Student Peacemakers, Amnesty International Intern, a Lloyd C. Gardner Fellow, Phi Beta Kappa member, a member of the Rutgers Honor’s Program, an Eagleton Institute intern, and VP of External Relations for the RUAA Scarlet Council. She is a daily reminder to never give up and to always make sure you have a voice at the table.
