Sophia Albanaa
Rowen Kanj embodies passion and understanding through his advocacy work with the LGBTQA community. He became a student leader for Transmissions, an on-campus transgender student advocacy and support organization and has been a Q-mmunity peer mentor for first-year students. He has served in other roles that support the transgender student community, specifically in the Chancellor’s Inclusion Taskforce and Vice Chancellor’s leadership cabinet and as President of Queer Caucus. He presented at the NJ Trans Youth Forum and recruited incoming students at the NJ Gay Straight Alliance Summit. Next year, he will continue to educate others about the transgender student community as a FIGS Instructor and New Student Orientation Leader.
