The Youth Empowerment Club has shown incredible dedication to the education and development of New Brunswick youth. They launched the A2E Tutoring Program last semester and have since inspired 110 Rutgers students to volunteer to tutor 46 students at Roosevelt School. They assist the children with not only homework and literacy, but also life skills, self-confidence development, and personal safety. They have collaborated with educators to create a reading curriculum and weekly agendas inclusive of life skill development. Moveover, they have raised over $5000.00 in awards and grants to support the tutoring program. This organization is receiving the Spirit of Rutgers Award for their spirit and commitment to the values, traditions, and missions of Rutgers University.
