Anthony Ashnault
This honoree is a scholar, performer, and activist who has educated others on afro-modern movement while intentionally paying homage to Paul Robeson’s life and legacy. This past February they led the initiative for the Black History Month halftime show at the Rutgers Athletic Center in honor of Paul Robeson’s life and legacy during a Men’s Basketball game. In addition, they serve as the Musical Director of Rutgers’ Liberated Gospel Choir, Student Ambassador, and choreographer of numerous afro-modern pieces performed at Mason Gross. They are extraordinarily talented, poised and committed to using their creativity to teach, lead and inspire others.
