Octavia Minter
This recipient has been a student staff member of Career Exploration for all four years of their time as an undergraduate student at Rutgers. Their dedication to this department, their impact and reach within five different roles over four years, and their incredible poise and positive disposition are the epitome of excellence in a student staff member. From the time they joined the team as a first-year student, they have always been quick to understand everything – the culture, the tasks, the larger goal. As they took progressively larger and higher-level roles, they expanded their reach to every corner of our large department and impacted students, staff, and employers along the way. They are a go-getter in every sense of the word. When they finished any task, they would ask what else could be done and were always ready and willing to help anyone in need, even if the person was not within their area. They are an incredible asset because they could be trusted with any project and would see it through to completion. They have always displayed professionalism and maturity within student staff roles with CES. They have continually advanced within our department based on performance, ever-evolving skillset, and dedication to CES’ mission and values. If they were not graduating and moving on to pursue their passion and talent within the world of Linguistics, CES would be honored to have them continue working within the department.
