Matthew Loder
This recipient joined Student Centers and Activities as a first year student in 2016 and has proven to be one of the strongest student staff members. They started as a first year Operations Assistant and now hold the position of Operations Area Manager, currently the highest student employment position in the Student Centers. They are responsible for assisting in the operations of the Livingston Student Center and the supervision of approximately 20 students under their assigned area. This includes hiring, training, supervising and facilitating bi-weekly team meetings. They took on this role with a great deal of confidence and with the fullest support of the professional staff. Their professional advancement has resulted in an increased level of morale, efficiency and productivity amongst our staff. They have created new processes to track inventory, increased guest satisfaction and ensured that new team members are properly trained to take on their new roles. This, along with every other task assigned to them, has been completed with a high level of professionalism, attention to detail and a level of care that is very uncommon in such a young staff member. In addition, they have excelled academically and they are involved on the Rutgers campus. They are the Treasurer of Rutgers’ Collegiate 100, previously serving as the Community Service Chair. They have also served as a mentor at a variety of community organizations and high schools.
