Peristera has led the Honors College with empathy-driven work over the past three years. In addition to her roles as Changemaking Community Facilitator and Undergraduate Intern, she also served as a leader in HC Speaks, an organization dedicated to helping students navigate conversations across difference. She has always brought her own identities into the various spaces where she works within the Honors College, acknowledging the importance of both her Greek and Asian cultures. All of her work within the Honors College has centered on understanding others’ lived experiences and developing empathy for others in the community. During her time in student leadership roles, the Honors College experienced multiple racial reckonings which caused them to restructure and realign their values.
