Rithika was selected from over 300 undergraduate candidates to design and teach a one-credit “Exploring Health & Medicine” course to 25 first-year students. Rithika’s ten-week course blended concepts in medicine with information on common challenges faced by college students. Demonstrating her commitment to active learning, Rithika often included fun group-work for her students. Rithika also dedicated a lesson to diversity and inclusion, which included the importance of cultural competency in healthcare providers. Rithika earned near perfect marks on every assignment in class and consistently made excellent contributions during in-class discussions. Her drive, passion, and cheerful attitude helped foster a positive environment in the classroom.
