Sarah is described by her nominator as being able to “do anything and everything well, but she is especially good at being a leader, being a generous, personable, creative and forceful agent for positive improvement. She makes every group in which she involves herself, better.” During her time at Rutgers she has embodied the legacy set forth by Paul Robeson in the following areas: Scholarship: as a member of SEBS General Honors Program carrying a 3.92 GPA while triple majoring in Food Science, Nutritional Sciences, and Biology. Research: She finishes her third year of research as a GH Cook Honors Scholar Leadership: As member of executive board and current president of the undergraduate food science club. Public Service: As chair of Alpha Zeta Service Committee organizing service initiatives Advocacy: Co-founder and leading voice within the Food Science Student Advisory Committee. Helping hand: Volunteered as instructor for FIGS and SEBS Honors Readings in Biology. Talent: An excellent cook/baker and accomplished photographer. She was First Chair for tenor saxophone in the Rutgers Concert Band. Humanity: She is both warm and generous and graciously humble about her considerable talents and boundless energy and enthusiasm.
