Catherine completed a three-credit pedagogy course in a section. This course provides Peer Instructors with a space to address questions regarding teaching, to reflect on their experience, and to support their peers as they navigate the challenges of college teaching. Catherine was a frequent and insightful participant in class discussions, sharing both her challenges and successes. She has found connections between her teaching experience and her future as a healthcare practitioner. She sees the way the vulnerability that she was able to share in the classroom has given her a healthier view of practicing healthcare. It was clear throughout her teaching experience, from planning her course to finalizing grades, that she was highly engaged with the learning she found as an instructor and that her concern for her students was genuine. Among talented and high achieving peers, Catherine was a model student.
