I’asia has made significant contributions to the Rutgers Community through her on-campus positions in Residence Life and Recreation. In both areas, she ascended to top tier leadership positions. She left a positive and lasting impression on both organizations through her efforts surrounding service, social justice, and inclusion. I’asia is not your typical student; not only did she serve as an RA on campus, but she finished her career on the Banks as a Building Manager for Recreation. Across a department of 600 employees, I’asia was one of 15 students who was elevated to a Manager status. In this role, the professional staff relied on I’asia to supervise the operations and management of the four campus rec centers. Her maturity and skill set made her an automatic choice to be chosen to work with professional staff to develop training programs for student employees. She was also integral in assisting with the promotional interviews for other staff positions within the department. She routinely offered recommendations to improve processes and procedures to make operations more efficient and effective.
