Michael has demonstrated measurable impact and scholarly success in multiple areas during his time working towards dual degrees. He holds leadership positions within his professional field as the Student Board Member of the NJ Association of Family Physicians, as well as community leadership as Board Secretary of the NJ Harm Reduction Coalition. He has held professional positions and engaged in multiple research centers across Rutgers University, which provided an opportunity to further his research capacity within his community health field and build collaboration with community partners. When not conducting community health research, Michael serves the New Brunswick community as a Student Doctor at The Promise Clinic, providing care clinic services for persons who are uninsured and receiving services from Elijah’s Promise Community Kitchen. His work with the NJ Harm Reduction Coalition services the larger New Jersey community, especially to support and provide services to persons who use drugs. Michael has become an active and committed leader within the Rutgers community and beyond, forging a path for positive community change.
