This award recipient has made a lasting impact not only on Rutgers Athletics but on Rutgers University. They are a four year letter winner in the sport of volleyball. They played all but two sets in their four year career at Rutgers . They are the picture of dedication. They were always the one on the court that could be counted on to help pick up a teammate, give a high five for encouragement, and cheer on teammates. They represent what we want our student-athletes to be – well balanced. They are a great student (graduated in December with a 3.81 in Public Health and Policy), a hard working athlete, and someone who wants to improve their community. And, they are a kind, caring, compassionate, and empathetic human being. They came to Rutgers with these traits already ingrained; their experiences at Rutgers only honed these traits further. They were selected as the 2017 Sportsmanship Award Winner for Rutgers Volleyball. They were selected as a PNC Banking Student-Athlete of the Month in 2018. They ended their career at #3 on the all-time digs list for Rutgers volleyball. They also sit at #10 on the single season digs record list for their performance in the 2018 season. They are focused, determined and hardworking on and off the court. They want to make a difference in everything in which they are involved and leave everything better than they found it. They served as team captain for three seasons and as Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representative for their team for three years, eventually ascending to the Executive Board of the SAAC as the Student-Athlete Wellness and Mental Health Liaison.
