As the Marketing and Communications Assistant in the Division of Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement (DICE) from November 2020 to March 2022, June was instrumental in infusing President Jonathan Holloway’s “beloved community” ethos into the organizational identity. June is a trailblazing student: she studied the ways in which a beloved community works by taking cues from President Holloway’s speeches and writings and transformed those ideas into engaging storytelling tactics for a population of 35,000+ students and 10,000+ faculty and staff. The various projects she worked on included celebrating the success of first-generation students, promoting resources to help build more inclusive academics, directing the Rutgers population to the Diversity Strategic Plan, and helping market signature initiatives such as Access Week and the Paul Robeson Success Institute. Outside of the office, June worked for the Center for Social Justice Education and LGBT Communities, where she managed the Center’s social media platforms to successfully amplify important lessons in social justice awareness. June has rightfully earned the trust and respect of peers, colleagues, and administrators.
